What is Friday Night Skating Vienna?
This is an event where inline skater meet in the night in Vienna and skate as a group on the streets. Skateboarder, snakeboarder, handbiker, cyclists, microscooter driver and other non-motorized people are welcome too. Yes, we already had one jogger running with us.

When is it?
It is on friday at 9 p.m. Usually we are skating between one and two hours. The current meeting time is described on this [G] page of the Grüne Wien [G].

Where is it?
The meeting point is the Heldenplatz in Vienna.

Which route are we skating?
That's changing. Usually the route of the next tour [G] is announced on the page of the Grüne Wien [G].

Who is organizing the event?
The main organization is done by the Grüne Wien [G] (a political party). Here you can find the persons who are coordinating the ordner activity [E]. And the police [G] is escorting the whole crowd.

How to get involved
That is easy: Take your inline skates (or other transport medium), come to the right time to the meeting point and make the tour with us.

How it starts
In the autumn of 1999 there were two or three night skate events organized by the Grüne Wien [G]. They were not announced very well. (I heared of them when they were done.) But it seems there were enough people participating so this event was done regularly in 2000 [E]. There were so many people so it was promised that it will be done in 2001 too.
